Kelly Brothers Pub & something special for parties

From: "Robert Ross Band Email List" <bluesman@PROTECTED>
Subject: Kelly Brothers Pub & something special for parties
Date: August 21st 2026

I will be at Kelly' Brothers Pub in Fort Lauderdale on Wednesday Aug 26 hosting the jam with Adam Uhlan and the band. See below for more details.

Having a party? I offer something special and different to those who may want a change of pace. I will perform my usual repertoire of classic rock, blues, jazz, soul, country, and inspirational songs but also mixing in some songs related to the holiday or eventyou are celebrating.
Here are the holidays that are coming up until the end of the year. Perhaps I missed one or two, let me know.
ROBERT ROSS

Any Old Party: Whether it's a birthday bash, graduation, promotion, anniversary, or a celebration for your cat or dog or kangaroo Robert Ros
will play the ultimate party tunes such as La Bamba (Ritchie Valens, Los Lobos), Just A Gigolo (Louis Prima), Proud Mary (Creedence Clearwater Revival, Tina Turner), Let The Good Times Roll (Ray Charles, Louis Jordan & The Tympany Five), Shake Rattle And Roll (Big Joe Turner, Bill Halley And The Comets), Shotgun (Junior Walker), What'd I Say (Ray Charles), Jailhouse Rock (Elvis Presley), Johnny B. Goode & C'est La Vie (Chuck Berry), Heard It Through the Grapevine (Marvin Gaye), Mustang Sally (Wilson Pickett), The Twist & Twist Again (Chubby Checker), Great Balls of Fire & Wine Spo Dee Oh Dee (Jerry Lee Lewis), Long Tall Sally & Good Golly Miss Molly (Little Richard), Twist And Shout (The Isley Brothers & The Beatles).

Labor Day: Labor Day is on the first Monday in September. Repertoire will be about the same as the May Day Celebration. The performance will be part sing-a-long and part concert. The repertoire will include union songs, work songs, and protest songs that call for a living wage, safe working conditions, and more.

International Peace Day:Robert Ross will lead a celebration of International Peace Day which occurs on September 25th of each year. The performance will be part sing-a-long and part concert. The repertoire will include many well known songs about freedom, brotherhood, and peace which grew out of the folk and gospel traditions.

Columbus Day: Columbus accidentally discovered a New World but he thought he had found a westward route to India when in actuality he had found a New World between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. The holiday is celebrated on the second Monday of October. It is also called Indigenous People's Day to honor the Native American tribes that were decimated by Columbus and the many conquistadors that followed from imperial nations such as Spain, Portugal, England, France, and The Netherlands. I will be singing an original song called Christopher Columbus as well as a few songs about the Native Americans.

Halloween Party: Everyone knows that Halloween (aka All Hallow’s Eve) occurs on October 31 but don’t forget All Saints Day on
November 1 and All Souls Day on November 2. In Mexico the November holidays are combined and called The Day of the Dead (aka Dia De Los Muertos). Robert Ross will play some of the spooky-est tunes ever along with party tunes to celebrate from his extensive jazz, blues, soul,
rock 'n' roll repertoire including: I Put A Spell On You (Screaming Jay Hawkins, Creedence Clearwater), Ghost Riders In The Sky (Johnny Cash, Frankie Laine, The Outlaws, The Ramrods), Voodoo Chile (Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan), Superstition (Stevie Wonder), The Pink Panther Theme (Henry Mancini), Peter Gunn Theme (Henry Mancini, The Blues Brothers), Black Magic Woman (Santana, Fleetwood Mac with Peter Green), With Her Head Tucked Underneath Her Arm (Stanley Holloway, The Kingston Trio), Knock On Wood (Eddie Floyd), Born Under A Bad Sign (Albert King, Cream). Love Potion Number Nine (The Coasters), House of The Rising Sun (The Animals, Bob Dylan). Some original tunes may find their way into the mix. If there's room there could be dancing. There could be a sing along and some call and response. Get ready to party!

Thanksgiving Day: The last Thursday in November. There aren’t a lot of Thanksgiving songs in my repertoire so I wrote a humorous one called Little Tom Turkey, basically the song sees the holiday from the perspective of the poor turkey who is wanted for dinner. I would also do a couple of songs about Native Americans, without whom there would be no Thanksgiving because they made it possible for the Pilgrims to survive that first brutal New England winter of 1620.

Veterans Day: Celebnrated on November 11, Veterans Day marks the anniversary of the end of World War I on November 11, 1918. Robert Ross will sing songs of peace, tolerance, brotherhood, and love of all man and woman-kind.

Christmas & Hanukkah: Robert Ross will perform classic holiday songs such as: Blue Christmas, White Christmas,
Jingle Bell Rock, Winter Wonderland, Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire), and Feliz Navidad; as well as Hanukkah songs like How Many Candles Do We Light, and The Dreidel Song.
If there's room, perhaps there will be dancing. There will definitely be a sing along so lyrics will be provided for you.
