LAST WEEKEND: My mother passed away on Wednesday. She was 91, one month short of 92. She had a good long life. She had two sons and 3 grandchildren. She also had made many friends who loved her.

Felix Cabrera & I opened for David Johansen on Saturday at Mexicali Live in Teaneck, NJ. What a thrill. The place was packed to the gills, and the crowd received us very warmly. Johansen and his guitarist Brian Koonin were terrific. We really enjoyed their performance. Fabulous. Everyone had a great time. I only regret that I had to leave early to attend my mother's funeral on Sunday morning.
