About Felix Cabrera: I have known Felix Cabrera since 1974 or 1975 when our respective bands shared a bill with David "Honey Boy" Edwards at the Washington Square Church on West 4th Street in Greenwich Village. Felix was the front man with The A Train Blues Band featuring Arthur Neilson on guitar, and I was co-leader of The Dicey Ross Band. It has been my pleasure to perform with him quite a few times over the years since. With A Train or Felix & The Havanahs, he has shared stages with Big Joe Turner, James Cotton and Papa John Creach, James Brown, Wilson Pickett, Bobby Blue Bland, Jr. Walker, Marcia Ball, Dr. John, Buddy Guy, Jr. Wells, Lonnie Mack and many others. Felix began working with Jimmy Vivino’s Black It
alians in the 90’s while continuing to front his own band. He has recorded 5 albums, including “For Green”, which the S.F Chronicle called “... a modest treasure” and was recently given 4 stars in Downbeat Magazine for his new recording “Felix Cabrera Band with Jimmy Vivino - Live at The Turning Point”.
